oldie but goodie
« on: January 23, 2013, 01:14:57 PM »
No one wants to hear how it "used to be" and "back in the day" this and that, but how else can we explain where we came from and what this crew means to us? The new folk are embarking on a trek that will be more perilous than you can imagine. We are coming back from a journey that you haven't begun to make.

In the end, you have a family that extends beyond the oceans. Passed the mountains and the rivers of this great nation, we represent all walks of life and are different in every way imaginable. From the most humble to the most sophisticated; we are for lack of better words, the epitome of the land and the example by which all are measured.

We will continue to work through our differences. We will maintain our standards to help us improve. We will welcome change because that’s what has brought us this far. Change brought us all the brothers from South West in El Paso, Texas and Juarez, Mexico. Change is what made the Chicago, Illinois Chapter possible. Change is what made Dallas, Austin and Houston, Texas happen. Change brought us our brothers from the United Kingdom. CHANGE is what made us rid ourselves of the garbage that held us back from becoming a closer family.

Los Angeles, California is where Mayhem was born, regardless of where we live now. We will maintain above all else, respect for each other. Every member who dons on the colors is our brother. Every Chapter has extended their hand out to the rest of us by calling themselves "MAYHEM STREET RIDERS." Every decal that is placed on each street bike represents a bond of blood. To have waited so long, to be allowed to show that decal with pride, to wear those colors and show the world that we will be there for each other no matter what hood we came from. No matter what city or state you were born in and no matter what color your skin is or what food you eat, we are brothers. Let us not forget that we are all here because of those few friends who respected each other, who pledged to become a brotherhood and made this possible. Let us not lose focus and dilute what the purpose was and what that passion was. What it meant to be out there on two wheels, free as the wind, to live life and share our experiences with each other. We all look beyond those factors that make us different because those are the very reasons that have made us a stronger group.

It isn't about bike nights. It isn't about the numbers. It is about riding the road of life with a select group of people that share your happiness as well as your anguish. It is about those brothers who will hold your hand at your bedside praying you get better, who will be there and have been there for your loved ones when things go awry. The brothers who can't wait to ride with you another day and who will be your wing man eternally if they ever leave this life.

Good times or bad times, gentlemen.
