So they're saying they're going to start mailing the checks Monday, which is earlier than announced to help citizens cope with rising gas prices and help stimulate the economy... So is it really going to stimulate the economy and is it really going to help you cope with the gas prices?? Because I know I'm spending my rebate on freaking bills and maybe my upper fairing, depending on how much my check is... I don't think that's stimulating the economy too much... And it's definately not helping me cope with gas prices...

well...depends on what type of economicst you talk to.
to help us out of a depression, we paid people basically to dig a hole and then fill it back up. thus, this caused jobs .. these jobs required people to buy stuff (shoes/food/clothes) thus started to stimulate the economony. Keynesian Economics (John Maynard Keynes). this worked, yet.. now we have more money in the system, were it drops the value of the dollar. thus, we have less purchacing power.
if people save the moeny and or don't buy goods and services, then it does not really stimulate the economy. paying credit cards and debuts actually is not too bad as it shrinks the money supply (real money and the money not phyically you can hold but created by loans from banks and credit cards).
anyways, don't save the money you get but spend it on STUFF. that will help the econony yet, with Bushes last rebate he gave out, we saved it and did not do any good for the economy.
what would help would be to limit the troups in the war on terror and spend the trillions on the US citizens (health care/education/up keep) fukk! i can go on... but not.
anyways.. sorry check out http://3trillion.org see how much $3trillion can buy.

Those dam check only stimulates people to think they have money coming to them, they give us six hundred bucks, while they take thousands, in income tax.... which is about 30%, plus S.S., Medicare, which most of us will never get, by the time we get there, and we still have to pay.... then when we buy something, its another 8% tax, then theres property tax, which is 1% of what you paid for your house, then theres others taxes, but they call them registration fees, licenses, permits.... for you vehicles....I dont even think we get to keep 50% of what we make.... we all work for the government.... pathetic.

Go to Cuba Nick. I agree we pay alot on taxes. Imagin how the economy would turn dramatically if the government allowed drugs and prostitution and taxes us on it. It would eliminate the average guy having to go to the hood to buy their sheet. Or having to pick up a hoe with a disease. They should legalize them both and tax us on it and control it.

the fact is our country needs $$$ to run as well we pay some of the lowest tax around.
yet, the fucked up part, we could lower the tax or put it to better use if the fucken government would not waste so much fucken money.
fucken crooks and the people that contract work for the government rip them off too. it's a cycle that needs to break but it's up to us, the voters to do something about it as a whole. yet, since we can't ... shit will not change.
imagine if we did not have to pay for education and heathcare .. if anything, very little cost. net effect would be .. smarter population, probably less crime and more healhty population that would stimulate the economy and put us back on top and beyond.
anyways.. spend that $300 - $600 the government gave us on stuff, that will help a little for the short run. yet, now all that money just increased the money supply and thus will cause minor inflation.

Yes, i understand the less money you make the more youre supposed to get. My boy made like 50K, my girl made like 17 or some shit cuz she didnt work the whole year. My boy got $600 and my girl got $678. $300 of the 678 was cuz she claimed our daughter.
